Look out Legoland Malaysia; My Three Aspies are heading your way! After twelve months of saving, six months of planning, and every possible medical emergency contingency plan enabled, we’re heading overseas. After a few fun days on Sentosa Island Singapore, we're off to Malaysia to take on every Aspie’s dream…Legoland!!!
I may just be a tiny bit excited. Well, okay, I’m practically bursting at the seams with excitement. We had looked at Legoland in Califorina, Legoland in Windsor and even the possibility of going all the way to Denmark. However after consulting with Mr Brickman himself, Ryan McNaught, Australia’s only Certified Lego Professional, we have chosen Malaysia.
Legoland Malaysia is the newest of the Legoland worlds and the hotel attached is super modern. The idea of travelling only 8 hours as opposed to 24 was also somewhat appealing. I wasn’t sure if my sanity would make in intact all the way to London or America. Denmark was definitely out of the question. I doubt any jet could hold enough Ipad charge points or vodka to ensure that happened!
I’ve packed my bags, and my chargers and I’m almost ready to go. As for My Three Aspies, there’s a few mixed feeling going on.
Casey has carefully researched all of the movies available on the plane and made sure he has filled every moment of the 8-hour flight. Bailey has now given up on asking me which hotels have Wi-Fi as after the ten thousandth time he asked I have stopped responding. Archie, well, Archie is by far the most excited having spent hours on YouTube researching all of the rides he can go on, and which ones will scare his oldest brother the most. I think his plan is riding anything with Animatronics as he loves tuning into Casey’s Five Nights at Freddy’s anxiety!
My husband has found all of the restaurants he wants to try and I have finally stopped panicking. Because really, how much can go wrong taking My Three Aspies to a foreign country, right?
Well, given our past experiences where we missed the plane….

And when I spent two hours piggy backing Bailey around Sydney as he thought he was dying…

What else can possibly go wrong?
- We’re leaving super early, like two hours early.
- Chargers. I’ve packed lots of chargers. And adapters, lots of adapters. Chargers and adapters. Very, very important to pack.
- We have a pharmacy of our own drug stash, including letters from Doctors explaining why we’re bringing so many medications into the country. Because I really don’t want to be stuck in Malaysia, with a stash of drugs, without an explanation. ADHD meds, Epi-Pens, antihistamines, anti-biotics and about 20 asthma puffers. I think that should cover it.
- I’ve packed the Promite. Heck, it’s hard enough trying to find the fussy eater’s Vegemite equivalent in Australia, I’m rating my expectations of finding it in an Asian country as ZERO.
- I have travel insurance. With Extras. In fact, the King Kong of extras. So far in June alone we’ve had seven days in hospital and four trips to the emergency department thanks to asthma and well, shall we say an emergency operation that left one of the Aspies walking like a cowboy for a week! July will be emergency free, no really, it will.
- I have booked all transfers as private transfers to avoid being stuck in a traffic jam with three agitated Aspies hanging out for Legoland. And Wi-Fi.
- Finally, as of today, all three aspies have their own IPads. With headphones. Must NOT forget the headphones. After saving all of their Kumon homework bribery money for six months the Aspies managed to save up just enough to get Mini IPads.

I think I’m organized. All that’s left is for me to start relaxing. I’m not sure when that will kick in. Hopefully soon. Hopefully when I get onto the plane, after I have used an entire packet of antibacterial wipes on the food trays, and we get to take off. Then I can relax.
